 Endowment funds are to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch what retirement funds are to an individual. They represent set-aside resources for the future. We will continue to raise current gifts to support our on going programs, but we may, through endowment dollars, be able to underwrite programs, positions, and even facilities that would be impossible to maintain otherwise. A strong endowment provides financial depth and permits confident planning.
Some people prefer to give to endowment funds so that their gift may be used in perpetuity. Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch has several endowments. You may also have an endowment fund established in your name or the name of a loved one. Our experienced estate planning staff will be happy to assist you by providing the information required for an endowment fund established within your Will or Trust. Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation Endowment programs exist so the programs of Dakota Boys Ranch can continue indefinitely.
Tree of Life Endowment
 You can honor or remember a loved one with a gift to the Tree of Life, Minot, N.D., which supports the Dakota Memorial School Endowment Fund, or to the Tree of Life, Fargo, N.D., which supports the Fargo Residential Center. A tree is being planned for the Bismarck campus. Gifting to this endowment is a beautiful way to say you care.
Levels of Giving:
- $300 to engrave a name on a copper leaf on the Tree of Life.
- $500 to engrave a name on a gold leaf. This leaf commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch programs, 1952-2002.
- $1,000 to engrave a name on a crowned acorn on the Tree of Life.
- $10,000 to engrave a name on a foundation stone placed at the base of the Tree of Life.
Spiritual Life Endowment
The spiritual needs of the youth entrusted to the care of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch are
met with this endowment, which helps with needed programs and helps to purchase
materials
for various spiritual life activities. This endowment also helps to support our Chaplaincy program. The chaplain and the spiritual life designees in each of the cottages draw upon monies reserved to bring the healing ministry of Christ to the youth of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
Scholarship Endowment
The future of the youth entrusted to the care of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch does not stop with graduation from high school. The Scholarship Endowment Fund was created to provide
a way for deserving youth to attend a university/college/trade school of their choice.
The only requirement for eligibility is that the youth must have been under the care of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch at one time.
General Fund Endowment
The General Fund Endowment provides funding for all the campuses, as needed. This means that a donation to this endowment will help children and youth at our Fargo, Minot, and Bismarck facilities in North Dakota.
