Programs of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is dedicated to helping at-risk children and their families as an expression of our joy and faith in Jesus Christ, following Christ's example to serve the needs of others.

Each young person is different and each young person has different needs.  As a result each young person will respond to help differently.  Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch has developed many programs to help young people in a way that will work for them.

Read here about NYPUM:  National Youth Project Using Minibikes

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch has been part of the National Youth Project Using Minibikes (NYPUM) Program since 1998. NYPUM is a motivational program which uses minibikes as an incentive for youth to make improvements in areas such as behaviors, family relationships, and education.

Youth ages 10-16 have the opportunity to be trained to safely operate Honda Minibikes. Once each youth has passed the strident 21-lesson curriculum, he/she is able to go trail riding. Riding time is based upon successfully meeting goals set by the youth and NYPUM Staff.

The successful operation of NYPUM Programs would not be possible without the support of the Honda Corporation and their respective dealers. Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch NYPUM Program is fortunate to be affiliated with Johnson’s Sport Center in Bottineau, North Dakota. Johnson’s can be contracted by calling (701) 228-3762.
