RISEN
Joy Ryan, President/CEO
Tomorrow is Good Friday, then Holy Saturday, and then the blessed celebration of the resurrection of our precious Lord, Jesus Christ.
All across our Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch campuses, folks will wish each other “Happy Easter,” smile, and say “HE IS RISEN!”
His rising is the fulfillment of the Lord’s promise of new life! It is “RISEN” in capital letters.
At the Ranch, we also experience “risen” in small letters. Because of your prayers and support, we see children each day who have “risen” above their pasts and look forward to new lives. These new lives are not defined by their past traumas and pain, but rather by a new beginning.
Evie is still in care at the Ranch. But her mom is starting to see her rising. The following words are an excerpt from the case manager’s report to our staff after a visit with Evie’s mom. Without you, this couldn’t have happened, so you, too, are part of the team and should rightly share in the celebration.
“Good afternoon team, I just wanted to share with the team that in visiting with Evie’s mom throughout Evie’s treatment, she has shared many times that she has not met a single person that works at the Ranch that doesn’t have the best interests of the kids and their families at heart. She noted today that every single one of the interactions she has had with our staff has been nothing short of great throughout Evie’s time in treatment. Mom expressed so much appreciation for all of the work that our staff do for Evie. Evie’s mom looks forward to her coming home at discharge and wants to thank all of our staff for the wonderful work we have done with her child. YAY TEAM!! You all deserve a shoutout and deserve to know how much of a difference you guys truly make in the kids’ lives that we work with every day. 😊 Thank you.”
So, Happy Easter! He Is RISEN! And, Evie is on her way, too.
Please keep our precious children and staff at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in your prayers. They truly sustain us.
