First Lutheran Church Foundation Grants $5,000 to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Fargo, ND, was the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the First Lutheran Church Foundation in Fargo, ND. The funds will be used to purchase new books requested for the Fargo Library of Dakota Memorial School, the on-campus school of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, as well as classroom sets of books for the English-Language Arts classroom. Offering a broader range of materials helps grow students’ interest in reading, which will benefit them academically and socially as they continue school, and as they transition from care at the Ranch back to their home communities.

The Fargo campus of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch serves children ages 12-18, who have experienced severe trauma, psychiatric issues, and/or developmental challenges. Dakota Memorial School, the on-campus school of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, also serves Day Students as young as 6th grade through the Day Program.

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a Christ-centered residential treatment and educational center for children and their families. We help the most troubled, complicated, and amazing kids by providing best-in-class psychiatric therapy and trauma-informed care, where we look kids in the eye, walk with them, and help them become their best selves.

The First Lutheran Church Foundation is a vital component of the ministry of First Lutheran Church. The purpose of the Foundation is to make disbursements to expand the witness and mission of First Lutheran Church, and to support special missions of the Christian Church in the community, region, and world.
