Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch welcomed four new board members during the August board meetings of its three corporations: Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation, and Dakota Family Services.
Patrick Berg joined the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Program Board of Directors. Berg is the Director and co-founder of Mountain Community School in Donnelly, ID. He brings over 20 years of educational experience, knowledge, and passion to the Ranch’s board of directors. Berg, a member of the Idaho Association of School Administrators, said, “I’ve enjoyed working with at-risk students for the past 20+ years and providing them an opportunity to find their own path. I feel that the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Program works alongside my educational, personal, and faith beliefs.”
Anne Friederichs joined the Dakota Family Services Board of Directors. Friederichs, a behavioral technician at Westside Elementary in West Fargo, is passionate about mental health, and the effects of trauma, environment, and genetics on children. “My family and I have been coming to Dakota Family Services for years,” Friederichs said. “We cannot express our gratitude for the guidance, constant support, and understanding the staff have shown us. I would love to give back to them in any capacity.”
Tracy Jordre and Bill Mobley joined the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Foundation Board of Directors.
Jordre, a Principal Architect who specializes as a Workplace Leader at JLG Architects, is passionate about children’s mental health issues and suicide prevention in her community. In addition to volunteering with Oak Grove School, United Way of Cass Clay County’s Community Impact Committee, the NDSU Architecture Department, and the City of Fargo’s Growth Advisory Committee, Jordre is the secretary of the North Dakota chapter of the American Institute of Architects and chair of the City of Fargo, Arts & Culture Commission. Jordre said, “Through my experience of parenting a child who was profoundly impacted by the death of a childhood friend, I am deeply passionate about the care and opportunities available to children and their families in times of need. [I want] to make a difference and give back to the community that helped my family when we were so desperately in need of help.”
Mobley, a Consulting Engineer at Enterprise Precast Concrete, is involved in building the new Kansas City airport and has been the treasurer for his church since 1979. In his spare time, Mobley enjoys gardening, sailing, woodworking, and collecting stamps, and he and his wife donate regularly to support Ranch programs. He said, “it’s easy to give money to an organization, but volunteers are needed for some of the work. I am not sure what God’s plan is for me [on the board], but I believe I have been called for a purpose.”
