CARF

I love writing about the children and staff at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. They are all remarkable people.

It’s important for you to know that none of those stories are possible unless we uphold the very highest standards of care. The kids and people who work here deserve no less.

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is the body that ensures that we do what we say we do. Every three years, reviewers visit our campuses and review each aspect of our work. Our licensure hinges on our ability to retain accreditation.

This summer they visited. They went to all of our campuses and reviewed resident and patient files. They read personnel files. They examined policies and went through our buildings. They interviewed children, staff, board members, community members, and leadership, including me.

We received the final result of their examination, and we are, again, fully accredited for the maximum of three years. I want you to know that this organization you read about, pray about, and support is truly a place of compassion, kindness, and the highest quality.

There were many complimentary comments in their report. This one stuck out for me,

“Welcomed, Safe, and Respected”—that is what every person deserves.

Special thank you to Tina Degree, VP of Education and Compliance, who makes sure we stay true to our expectations.

Please keep our staff and kids in your prayers.

In His love,

Joy Ryan, President/CEO
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch
