Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Fargo, ND, was the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the First Lutheran Church Foundation in Fargo, ND. The funds will be used to create a safer living environment for children at the Ranch as they heal from the trauma they have experienced.
The Fargo campus of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch serves children ages 12-18, who have experienced severe trauma, psychiatric issues, and/or developmental challenges. Due to the severity of trauma many Ranch kids have experienced, safety upgrades are important to keep the kids as safe as possible, while still providing a somewhat “normal,” home-like environment. Physical environments are as much a part of client healing as the medical care, education, and treatment they receive. Client safety is a core tenet of Ranch policies and procedures.
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a Christ-centered residential treatment and educational center for children and their families. We help the most troubled, complicated, and amazing kids by providing best-in-class psychiatric therapy and trauma-informed care, where we look kids in the eye, walk with them, and help them become their best selves.
The First Lutheran Church Foundation is a vital component of the ministry of First Lutheran Church. The purpose of the Foundation is to make disbursements to expand the witness and mission of First Lutheran Church, and to support special missions of the Christian Church in the community, region, and world.
