The North Dakota Community Foundation (NDCF) granted $5,000 to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch to complete safety upgrades on its Bismarck campus, allowing the Ranch to continue providing a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment for children and families. The funds are part of the NDCF’s Statewide Greatest Needs Fund.
Funds will be used to purchase and install fob readers on key access points, cutting down on the time it takes to gain access to spaces across campus and maximizing the safety of kids and staff. This project creates a safer living environment for the at-risk children served by Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch as they heal from the effects of trauma. Healing for kids at the Ranch cannot happen unless their basic needs are met, including the need for safety and security.
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a Christ-centered residential treatment and educational center for children and their families. The Ranch helps the most troubled, complex, and amazing kids by providing best-in-class psychiatric therapy and trauma-informed care, where we look kids in the eye, walk with them, and help them become their best selves. Its on-campus school, Dakota Memorial School (DMS), provides individualized education for kids who have psychiatric, behavioral, and trauma issues.
The North Dakota Community Foundation was established in 1976 to improve the quality of life for North Dakota’s citizens through charitable giving and promoting philanthropy.
