Seeing Him Smile Again is Worth Every Tear

Today I'm giving a shout-out to the brave parents who trust us with their precious boys and girls. I say "brave" because it takes courage to reach out for help.

It is difficult to imagine the pain and heartbreak some parents experience when their child needs help. The parents of kids who come to the Ranch are out of options and out of hope. We look into their eyes and say, "How can we help?" And most of them, through their tears, tell us they just want their precious child back to "normal."

Parents bring their children to the Ranch for a glimpse of what normal could be, and we get so excited when they see that change in their child.

Just a few weeks ago, we received a note from one of our brave parents in response to a progress report from one of her son's teachers.

"Ohhhhh!! I love it!! He should be proud of himself!! I’m so proud of him! Thank you to all of you who work with my son and all the amazing kiddos there! You have made a huge difference in OUR lives! You don’t get thanked enough I’m sure....so THANK YOU! My hats off to you all!! Thank you for helping "N" in all ways you do!! I’m so appreciative of the work you guys have done with him! Honestly thank you from the bottom of my heart! Seeing him smile again is worth every tear I have shed! It’s not always easy for us, but it’s worth the hardship just to see his eyes light up again!  Thank you again!!"

This note brought tears, joy, and happiness to all of us at the Ranch, but the thanks is not just for us—none of what we do is possible without you. Through your support of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, you help these courageous parents realize there is hope for their child.

Thank you and God bless you!
