Donation Guidelines

Your Donations Help Local Kids Find Hope and Healing

Donating to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch Thrift Stores supports the greater mission of the organization: to help the most troubled and amazing kids become their best selves! Donate your gently used items at our thrift store locations or call to schedule a pickup.

HOURS AND PROCEDURES
Our locations are accepting donations Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday from Noon - 4 p.m., or until the store's donation space is full.

• • Donors are asked to bring in only saleable items. We reserve the right to decline any non-saleable furniture or items listed on the "Do Not Accept" list below.
  • Once the store is full, the donation center will close for the day.

We Accept (in good condition):

• Clothing – When donating, please be sure to separate clothing items from other miscellaneous goods.
• Furniture
• Linens
• Small working appliances
• Working Flat-screen TVs – less than 7 years old
• Household Miscellaneous
• Jewelry
• Shoes
• Decorations
• Wall Décor
• Seasonal Items
• Books, Records, and DVDs
• Sporting Goods
• Toys
• Rugs
• Tools
  
  
• The following items MIGHT be accepted if new or "like new" condition:
  Microwaves
  Air Conditioners
  Dehumidifiers
  Sinks
  Ping Pong Tables/Pool Table
  Exercise Equipment

We DO NOT Accept:

Firearms (case by case basis, please contact Manager or Director)
Hazardous Materials (Oil, Gasoline, Paint, Stain, Varnish, Toxic Chemicals)
Tires
Batteries
Large Appliances
Pianos-Organs
Beds (Water, Sleeper Sofas, Hide-A-Beds, Mattresses, Box Springs)
Box Entertainment Centers that can’t hold at least 32” flat screen TV’s.
Any TV that is not a flat screen
Computer Equipment/Printer/Fax
Furniture that is broken, missing parts, ripped or stained.
Metal Desks**
Exercise Equipment**
Ping Pong Tables, Pool Tables**
Microwaves**
Air Conditioners**
Toilets/Bathtubs/Sinks**
Windows/Doors**
Headboards/Footboards**
Motorcycle and Bicycle Helmets**
Carpet***

Any electrical that needs to be hardwired***
Items not Structurally Sound

** All items marked with two asterisks may be accepted if they are new or “like new” condition and can easily be moved with two people
*** All items marked with three asterisks must be new in box or new with tag

Schedule a pick-up: 
Pickup is available by appointment.
**Please do not box/bag items over 50 pounds. Additionally, if two people cannot pick up an item,  we cannot take it.
