It has been more than 40 years since “The Miracle on Ice,” when the U.S. Men’s Hockey team defeated the Soviet Union on their way to Olympic gold. To this day, whenever I think about that win, I still feel the same emotions I did the night it happened.
That moment was electric, and people talk about it as if it were yesterday.
While the Summer Cottage Olympics on our Minot campus may not have had millions of spectators or media coverage, the event brought the same electric feeling to our kids and staff.
Our amazing kids competed in softball, sumo wrestling, hula hooping, sand volleyball, basketball, and bike relay races.
It was a very special event for our kids, and one they won’t soon forget.
The Summer Cottage Olympics were important for a lot of reasons. My favorite reason is that they allowed our kids to just be kids. They laughed, cheered, and supported their teammates. In those moments, they were able to leave their trauma behind for a bit and have fun.
Moments like this help our precious kids believe in hope and provide healing. These moments couldn’t happen if it weren’t for your faithful support.
To ensure these moments continue for generations to come, please consider adding Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch to your estate plans. Do me a favor before deciding one way or the other—pray about it and let God guide your decision.
Thank you for providing moments for our kids to be kids!
Blessings,
Tim
